Instagram Your Wedding

What do you think about having an Instagram contest at your wedding? Have your friends, who will likely be taking some pictures anyway, #hashtag your wedding and then choose your favorite while you are relaxing on your honeymoon? I bet you would get some great pictures.

Plywerk

I have been looking for a place to print some of my work on canvas and then I stumbled across PLYWERK. They are kind of awesome. Instead of canvas, they print on wood. It's an eco-friendly option and made right here in Portland, OR. PLYWERK blank panels are made from sustainably harvested wood and you have the option of mounting your images with or without adhesive. Cool right?

My Better Half

So I found Amanda Jane Jones blog and fell in love with her series My Better Half. It's sweet and inspiring to read a little blurb about the cute and eclectic couples she chooses. Of course I am playing the sap card, and wondering what my 'better half' would put in his list of three.

I just finished editing some of the photos from Sunday and got my website up. Brennan is a very talented photographer because I act like a total freak when there is a big camera in my face, and he still managed to take a lot of good pictures.

Just Some Me Stuff

 

Hi. How was your weekend? In case you are wondering, mine was pretty great. One of my favorite humans took yoga pictures of me on Sunday and it was super fun! This one is funny and a typical Amanda face - more to share later.

Camera Questions

Well folks, this is my new camera. It's a really awesome little camera but I am feeling on the fence. I want a dslr so I can learn and grow with my camera, not to mention take great photos. But this little one is pretty great because it's small (better to take places), less expensive (i don't have a sugar daddy), and still takes really nice photos. It might also be easier to start to learn all the camera lingo with. Oy... So do I keep a little camera knowing I will still buy a dslr eventually, or just return it and get the big camera now?

Anyways. Have a great weekend lovely people! I will be taking pictures all weekend to figure out what I want to do.

My View

 

This is my morning view from my balcony. I don't know about you, but I spend a lot of time wanting things. Lately, one thing I want is a house and a little yard. Wanting things is exhausting. Instead of wanting, I think I will just appreciate what I have, which is a lot. A lovely view not excluded.

When I found Dart Photography, I thought she was located in Portland. I was wrong, she is a Nashville based photographer, but she comes out this way often. Her photos are beautiful, natural, and earthy, and they inspire me to go out and take pictures of the humans in my life.

Keeping it Local: Photographer

Fancy that.. I post about The English Department and then stumble across one of their photographers, Lisa Warninger. 
I think her photos are beautiful and love seeing them set in some of my favorite Portland locations. The top photo was taken two blocks away from my home.

I love boats of all shapes and sizes. One of my fantasies is to travel around the world on a wooden sailboat. Mmm... maybe someday. Until then, I will enjoy beautiful photos of seafaring vessels.

Infinitely Curious

There is this very special man who is currently traveling about the land on his motorcycle living the life of a high-tech vagabond. He probably smells pretty bad most of the time, but that doesn't stop him from taking beautiful photos and keeping a nice little blog. Check it out if you like good things.

Factory No More

A Parisian factory turned into a bright and beautiful home. Beautiful concrete floors contrast the large white walls and ceiling while neutral furniture and accessories add warmth. I would love to see this place at night when all the different lights are on.

 

 

I really love how the bedroom is tucked behind that interior wall of windows under the mezzanine. It's interesting, but it's also a lovely way to bring light deeper into the space. You can't have a bedroom without windows, that's just creepy.
