What do you think about having an Instagram contest at your wedding? Have your friends, who will likely be taking some pictures anyway, #hashtag your wedding and then choose your favorite while you are relaxing on your honeymoon? I bet you would get some great pictures.

Jenna Is Getting Married! First We Party.

Hi friends. I am leaving for Colorado today for my red heads bachelorette party. I promise no one will come home with a face tattoo. Actually, I can't promise that. Have a good weekend!

Raspberry and Serrano Sangria

Are you ready to start thinking about making fun and refreshing summer drinks? This girl is. I am allergic to strawberries, so I might substitute peaches in this recipe, but it sounds kind of amazing. 

• 1 small carton of raspberries
• 1 small carton of strawberries
• 1 lime
• 2 apples, granny smith and a braeburn
• 1 serrano pepper (more if you are daring)
• 1 bottle of Viognier
• 1/2 cup of white grape juice
• 1/4 cup of sugar
• 1 can of club soda
• Mint leaves for garnish

Layer all of the the different fruits in a tall pitcher, adding a dash of sugar in between every layer. For an interesting twist, you could use honey or agave instead of plain sugar. After all of the fruit has been layered, add the sliced serrano chile and the remaining sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes.
Next add the Viognier to the fruit, sugar mixture, white grape fruit juice and top it all off with the club soda. Place in the refrigerator to chill.

I am scrambling around getting ready for my friends baby shower today, so no time to get local. I will, however, have some fun pictures to post later. I am in the middle of creating a 6 layer cake! Hope you have a lovely Tuesday.

graduation day

 

I graduate today! It's bitter sweet because I have really loved my time in school; even when projects pushed me to tears and the occasional mental breakdown. Through school I have met people I can't imagine my life without and I can't thank my instructors enough for everything they have taught me. It's be lovely to watch myself learn and grow. Twenty six years and two bachelors degrees later, I am done! (for now)

We are having a Christmas party tonight! I am excited to see friends, laugh, drink wine, and eat cheese. Mmm. I hope you have fun plans too!

Soft Reception

 

Is this a wedding reception set up, a dinner party, a bridal shower? I don't know, but I do know that I love it. The soft diffused light washing over the cream and white dining set up is just lovely. I am into paper flowers this week, so I think the flowers and paper cranes are pretty neat. More on paper cranes here .
