Shipyard Boots

These Off Shore Boots were inspired by the boots workers wore at the San Francisco Naval Bay Shipyard in the 1960's. They are light weight, waterproof, and keep your feet warm when it's cold. Perfect if you live in a rainy city. I ordered a pair for my man's birthday and will definitely post pictures and my real life review.

CAMP

I recently found this cool clothing line called CAMP. Their tops are super cute, look a little vintage, and have that Americana style that is so popular right now. I didn't even want to shop in Europe because everywhere I went Americana jumped out at me. Wait... Let me clarify. I DID want to shop and I LOVE this Americana trend, but I felt like I could buy things at home for a lot less money.

These guys are great. I like.

....and for my Colorado University friends....

Chiffon Blouse

I am wearing this nordies shirt right now.

It's pretty cute and comfy, so I not only have it in rose, but in a the light purple as well. Sheer tops are my favorite paired with a cute lacy bralet or cami underneath.

Have a peaceful weekend friends!

Bathroom Style

This weekend I was in Hillsdale, a Portland neighborhood, and wandered in a little Turkish bath shop. I then proceeded to learn about Turkish towels.

A peshtemal is a Turkish traditional towel used in the Turkish baths. The peshtemal absorbs water as fast as a towel, dries very quickly, takes up less space and easy to carry and is therefore used as an alternative to the towel in bathrooms, pools, spas, beaches, sport facilities and for baby care. It's great for traveling too!

The peshtemal fabric is made of 100% cotton produced in hand-woven looms in Turkey.

These products are highly water absorbent so they're suitable for using in the bathroom. Look for a local shop to buy them, but if you do not prevail, here is an Etsy Shop that sells them. The Hillsdale shop owner told me that once I go Turkish, I will never go back.

Just Because

How do you feel about tulle and tutu's?

At Wanderlust, the joyful KK Ledford was wearing a tutu and it was silly and fun. Why not right? What do you wear to feel a little playful?

Crystals

Crystal and gem necklaces are very much "in" at the moment. I love them.
Recently I found a beautiful one that, for about 10 minutes, as I wore it around the store, I thought I couldn't live without. But, I discovered around minute 11 that I could, infact, go on with my life without the white crystal necklace. I kept my wallet in my purse for two reasons.
One. I can't be throwing money around on jewelry I don't need when I have wooden shoes to try on a few months from now.
Two. I would like to make my own. Finding a little crystal that has some meaning to me and attaching it to a nice chain seems a lot more special and of course magical.

Frye Boots

I've been fantasizing about Frye boots. I'm a boot girl and am in need of a new pair with my old ones (which I adore) slowly but surely falling apart. If I'm not in boots, I am wearing toms or sandals - so seeing as that I wear them nearly everyday in this rainy city, investing in a good pair is worth it.

Breezy Tunic

Yes it hailed golf balls today, but I just keep dreaming of spring and summer. This tunic looks perfect to pull on over a bathing suit or to wear with a pair of shorts. Tunics are usually always a win in my eyes - unless it's a tunic with florescent daisies printed all over. Then...not so much.

Kaleidoscope Tiki Bikini

Apparently I am in a bathing suit mood. Maybe that means I should go somewhere sunny and warm?  This Mara Hoffman bikini is so fun and different! I think it looks like a pretty good suit to be active in too. I love to go cliff jumping, waterfall climbing, and surfing (although I am still pretty awful) in the summer, so having a good bathing suit that stays on is important. I found this one at Madewell - a shop I very much love.

Loafers

You know when you see something cute and you talk in a high pitch voice about it? Well, ladies at least? That's what I did when I saw these loafers.

Feels Like Winter

I am desperate for a new winter coat and I am in love with JCrews Academy Coat. The sleeve cuffs are great and double as fingerless gloves. I will dream for now.

Inspiration

I am re-thinking the sweat shirt I just pulled on. I dream of dressing like this everyday.

comfy cozy

Okay.. I guess I have to accept that summer is over, even if it was only here for two weeks. That's okay though because I LOVE fall! It's by far my favorite season. I love the trees changing, I love the cool crisp air, I love boots and layering, I love the holidays and all the anticipation.
I have two priorities for fall. Working on my portfolio and being festive, and I think that finding the perfect everyday comfy cozy scarf is imperative. American Apparels circle scarf seems like a  good candidate.
