Why not turn your firewood into an art project? Michigan artist Michael McGillis did just that and turned a row of logs into a beautiful sight. It's titled Wake, and the was originally installed in 2006 in Minnesota. Simple and wonderful.

First Manicure

For the wedding this last weekend, I got my first ever manicure. Weird right? I am not a nails girl. Although I love to admire a nicely painted nail on another hand, it's just not something I have the patience for. BUT, for the wedding we all went to have our nails done together and I am obsessed. I decided to go with Navy, and five days later I still can't stop gawking at my hands like a lunatic. It's so fun! Do you paint your nails?

Bathroom Style

This weekend I was in Hillsdale, a Portland neighborhood, and wandered in a little Turkish bath shop. I then proceeded to learn about Turkish towels. 

A peshtemal is a Turkish traditional towel used in the Turkish baths. The peshtemal absorbs water as fast as a towel, dries very quickly, takes up less space and easy to carry and is therefore used as an alternative to the towel in bathrooms, pools, spas, beaches, sport facilities and for baby care. It's great for traveling too! 

The peshtemal fabric is made of 100% cotton produced in hand-woven looms in Turkey.

These products are highly water absorbent so they're suitable for using in the bathroom. Look for a local shop to buy them, but if you do not prevail, here is an Etsy Shop that sells them. The Hillsdale shop owner told me that once I go Turkish, I will never go back.

Bison Ceramics

This ceramics shop makes my heart melt. Or maybe it just makes my arms feel weak. I am trying to decide what exactly it's doing to my body that is appropriate to say on my PG13 blog. 

Moving on. Obviously I love this Australian ceramic shop - Bison Ceramics. Why do I think it's great? Well, I secretly desire to be a clay thrower, that's not a huge surprise since I secretly desire to be most things that exist in the world. Well, not a whaler. Definitely not a whaler. 

The sweet colors and simplicity of the pottery is perfect, while the clean design of the store allows the pottery to shine. Their aim is to create a product that last a lifetime. They use recycled packaging materials and renewable energy to run their kilns and buildings. 

I either want to fly to Australia to wander around this shop for a while, or throw my current career(s) out the window and paint pottery for a living.

A Lil Funky

 

 

 

What do you think about this funky little living room? I love it. By keeping all the big pieces in a neutral color palette, Emma, the owner, can mix up the color of the pillows and accesories to give the room a new feel whenever she wants. I do love the bold colors though..I am going through a bright color phase. 

I've been thinking about adding some flokati rugs to my hard dining room wooden chairs to make them a little more comfy. I love the look but I can't decide if it's too trendy at the moment. Eh. Who cares.

Happy Weekend

 

I usually post a lot of white interiors. I love them. I know that, you know that, everyone knows that. But this living room is energetic, vibrant, and peaceful. Enjoy something bright! 

black and white

 

Black and white is always classy. Hmm.. Whenever I use the word 'always' I start to think of why that isn't true. So now I am thinking of black and white jail uniforms not being classy. However they are vintage... Back to the point. This black and white bedroom is classy and elegant with the ruffled pillow cases, layered linens, and different textures on the bed. I recently bought big euro pillows for my own bed that is sans headboard and I love them!
