Leather Love
Eeeeeeeeeee! I have been a little illusive lately. I know. But, that's because big things are happening in life right now. Everything is big. I will tell you about it soon, I promise, but until then, this Cavett Leather Chair by Crate and Barrel is beautiful don't you think? Mid-century modern makes me weak at the knees, and anything American made makes me even happier. So, when you combine those two things with the sleek lines of this handsome chair - I am left twitterpated.

Keeping it Local: Bodyvox
Has anyone ever seen a BodyVox show? They are based here in Portland, a few blocks away form my building actually.. They are a modern dance company and since I have free time again, I am starting dance classes there next Monday! I can't wait.

Factory No More
A Parisian factory turned into a bright and beautiful home. Beautiful concrete floors contrast the large white walls and ceiling while neutral furniture and accessories add warmth. I would love to see this place at night when all the different lights are on.
I really love how the bedroom is tucked behind that interior wall of windows under the mezzanine. It's interesting, but it's also a lovely way to bring light deeper into the space. You can't have a bedroom without windows, that's just creepy.

Swings in Bedrooms? Yes.
It's no surprise that I like this Copenhagen home. Cozy, clean, and inviting, I would spend cold winter days by the fireplace. The swings in the bedrooms are maybe the best thing ever and Eames (dining) chairs always rock my world.

Stone Creek
Set into the sloping landscape in a non-intrusive manner, this remote, rustic and modern home in Bigfork Montana welcomes guests with an intriguing
entryway of stone and stacked wood pieces. The living roof is so darn beautiful. I think I have been starring at the image below for maybe ten whole minutes. This place is so good.
Nothing beats living on the water.

On the Mediterranean
This Jaffa apartment features contemporary minimalism and historical asceticism.
Surprisingly, modern, minimalistic construction styles remind us of and correspond with the ascetic style of the past, and this despite the vast time difference between them.
The central idea was to combine the old and the new whilst maintaining the qualities of each and to create new spaces that blend the styles together even intensify them because of the contrast and tension between the different periods."
Yea.. Let's be honest, this place is pretty rad.

Glass House
Formed of large panels of Starphire glass—an incredibly clear glass usually reserved for jewelry displays—that are supported by massive structural steel beams, the house appear to hover above 3.5 acres of rolling lawns and oak woodlands. A modern concrete-and-glass homage to Mies van der Rohe's Farnsworth House.
Designed by Steve Hermann in Montecito, CA.

Womb Chair
In tribute to my obsession with chairs, I thought I would talk a little bit about Eero Saarinen's Womb Chair. Designed for Knoll, the Finnish born architect and designer was challenged to create a chair that Florence Knoll could curl up in. The Womb Chair's enveloping, lap-like form continues to be one of the most iconic and recognized representations of mid-century Scandinavian organic modernism.
Another plus. They are manufactured in the USA.

A perfect Swedish balcony.
The main attraction of this Swedish apartment is the colorful and inviting roof terrace. The outdoor space features storage cabinets where cushions and throws could be tucked away when the weather is bad.
Pillows on the floor in the living room create a relaxed comfortable feeling, while white walls and floor boards are perfectly paired with colorful furniture.
I would drink tea and read on that terrace every morning.
oh.. And the danish modern chair in the living room really gets me going.
