Last night Lucy and I made bruschetta (it was delicious), sat on the balcony, and went on a walk (like an old married couple). It was lovely. I've never made bruschetta before last night, but it was pretty easy. You just need tomatoes, basil, balsamic, garlic, salt, and olive oil. We even added some mozzarella to jazz things up a bit.

Portland Bites: Olympic Provisions
Olympic Provisions is fantastic and is home to Oregon's first USDA-approved salumeria.
I am talking about the one on NW Thurman and 17th, however there is a second location in SE Portland. It's also a meat department!
Meat department sounds weird. I keep thinking about Nordstroms filled with sausage and cuts of meat..
Lunch is fairly priced for delicious food and you get to enjoy your yummy food in a beautifully designed restaurant.
The one eh part of my experience there was that my bbq chicken sandwich bread got a bit too soggy. So, if you get the bbq chicken sandwich, you are forewarned. My good buddy Ed had the curry chicken sandwich and it was fantastic. Please just go there, eat some food, have a drink, and think about the odd little part of Portland you are having a delicious meal in. It's sort of industrial/under a freeway/super adorable. If you do go there though, let me know so I can join you.

Anything For BBQ Sauce
Dear vegetarians, sorry about the giant meat picture. But tonight I am making....you guessed it! Ribs! It will be my first attempt at this and I am very excited. I have a serious obsession with french fries lately. It's getting unhealthy.. Tonight is not the night to kick the habit though because I will be making ribs, french fries, and a yummy salad.
Update: Ribs were really, really, really awesome.

Let Soup Season Begin
I love love love french onion soup. In fact, I have the exact same bowls as the one you see above. One big reason might be the cheese... My parents and grandma could never keep enough gruyere in the fridge for me.
Tomorrow night I will be making yummy soup in my fancy little bowl pot things and I will enjoy every bite. It feels silly posting a link to a gluten free recipe seeing as that you just need to change out the bread for gluten free bread, but here it is none the less. Enjoy!
