Twenty Weeks

Hi Baby,

We had your second ultra sound today. Graham went with us and was captivated for a little while, then he told us he was going to "bust outta there." I think your dad tried to sneak a peak when the technician looked at your gender, although he claims that didn't happen. We both want you to be a surprise even though I know you are a girl and he trusts my instincts.

Afterward I went to the chiropractor. Somehow, I pulled the muscles in my back that connect my spine to my ribs? I can't be sure. However, I can be sure that last night the thought of going into labor sounded like a more pleasant experience than the pain I was being consumed by. I can barely move but I can't numb my pain with vicadin and muscle relaxants. So, the fact that I am finally gaining energy again means almost nothing when I keep getting injuries that immobilize. It's actually pretty amusing.

You, my love, seem to be doing well. It was nice to see you moving your arms and legs around in there. I can feel you a little bit here and there, but it seems like nothing when I see how much you are actually moving. I was worried that you only had four fingers on one hand, but thankfully, you have all five.

xoxo mama

  1. I had that same pain right around 20 weeks. I tried a chiropractor as well, but massage therapy worked the best for me. I've got a great recommendation for a pregnancy massage therapist if you need it :)

    1. I would love it. The chiropractor I saw actually helped a tremendous amount, but I know massage is going to save my life over the coming months. :)

    2. Frederica Spring at Spa Willimina on NE 40th. She's a certified doula as well, so she's super comfortable with pregos. Like their Facebook page and sign up for email because they have deals all the time. Tell them I referred you! Good luck :)
