Well folks, I'm back from Wanderlust. I sometimes need more time to transition than most, so I am still in a daze. I wish I could articulate what the weekend was to me, but right now all I can do is stare and the screen and use simple words. So let's just talk about it in pictures.
This is the meadow across from my grandparents house.
These are my beautiful cousins at dinner.
Hula Hooping is a big thing.
So is slack line.
I was too exhausted to party, but others weren't.
This is KK. She is an astrologer & yoga teacher & awesome.
This is a pool party on top of the mountain. There was plenty of pool acro yoga, good music, and flexible women in clear floating balls.
LOOK CLOSE. This is a swarm of bees. Yes, a swarm of bees in the middle of the festival. Yes, there were people dancing in the bees. Yes, I thought that maybe there was a bee charmer. Yes, it was crazy cool. Yes, I heard a man say "What's with that, are they local?" Uhhh...
What was the neatest was that NO ONE freaked out.
Shivasana on a mountain.
No, this isn't a pool - this is Lake Tahoe. And those are ducks.
These are two cold little girls.
This is where I lounged before a concert.
This is where I ate spicy balls. This is where I then ate sweet balls.
This is a Gaia dome.
AND THIS. Is Krishna Das - and my new favorite human. No, he isn't a middle aged Indian man like I had previously imagined when listening to his music. He is a middle aged white dude from New York that plays the harmonium and chants in kirtan. He seems like a guy you would smoke a cigarette (if anyone smoked) and have philosophical conversations, complete with curse words, on a street corner. I love him. We danced, we sang, kids ran around, we sang a gospel song (I will write about this later), we listened, and we laughed.
In conclusion. Wanderlust rocked.
