I know that urban farms are popping up all around the country, but I would have to say that Portland probably houses more than many places. I can't think of anyone I know that has a yard and no chickens in it. Then again, I know a lot more people that live in apartments around these parts... But hey, the ones that do live in houses all have chicken coops. Apparently chickens are quite hip.
If I had a yard, I would have chickens too. Obviously. Who doesn't want their own eggs and the opportunity to build a fancy little chicken coop in the backyard?
I used to balk at the idea of having chickens but since moving to Portland have since warmed to the thought. Seeing these super great coops makes me, dare I say, excited about the prospect.
